The little orange quilt that I posted about a few months ago is finally finished! I intitally put white binding on it (I was kind of on binding auto-pilot), but I didn't like it. The orange looks much better - it was worth the trouble of re-doing it. I think this would look nice hanging on a white or grey wall.

Signs of Spring
What a bad blogger I've been for these past few months! But I have a pretty good excuse - we're expecting!!
The first part of this pregnancy, I felt drained and exhausted, and I lost all interest in design and crafting. I was in serious hibernation mode! Now, at 20 weeks, I'm feeling great, and my creating juices are starting to flow again. All this comes just in time to move - we've sold our house and are building a new one this summer. We'll be headed to temporary quarters within the next couple weeks, so things are very up in the air at the moment. I need to be channeling my energy into packing, but I'll try to be better about posting.
This is going to be a very exciting summer!

SJWC Craft Fair
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to see mom and me on Saturday. Our first ever craft fair was a big success! We learned a lot, had fun, and I think we're both hoping to do it again.
Today, I'm enjoying being back in my studio. It's in desperate need of some organizing after the last big push to get things ready for the sale. I'm also anxious to get going on some new projects!

Improvisational Piecing
This little quilt is the result of some experimentation with improvisational piecing. I've been having so much fun piecing this way - it's very liberating!
I have these blocks up on my design wall. Bright orange is a departure from my usual color palette, but I've been experimenting with color, too. I'm anxious to keep playing around with color and shape.

Something Fishy
My friend Dorothy came up the pattern for this cute fish. She asked me to make one to check her directions before she puts it for sale. Fitting the curved pieces together was a little challenging (I should really know better than to sew after 8pm), but I'm happy with the end result.

The Old Walker Farm
Earlier in the week, my mom and I went with my grandpa and his brother, Don, to see the farm where my great-grandmother grew up.
The barn was built by my great-great-grandfather. It's now home to this flock of white ducks.
